1981
Foundation
Sarto Di Moda is established in Bangkok as a bespoke tailoring house, cutting suits and shirts to individual patterns.
Today
The atelier works from Bangkok, with an in-house workshop and a visiting tailor service for clients who cannot travel to Thailand.
Production
The rare distinction of an in-house factory
An in-house operation gives Sarto greater control over the journey from measurement to finished garment.
Most of what decides whether a garment fits happens after the consultation: how the pattern is drafted, how the cloth is cut, how the chest is built and how the first fitting is read. When that work sits under the same roof as the fitting room, a note taken at a fitting can be acted on directly rather than described to someone else.
It also shortens the distance between a question and an answer. If a client asks for a different shoulder, a softer chest or a change of lining part-way through a commission, the request goes to the people already handling the garment.

Control
Pattern drafting, cutting and finishing are handled by our own team, so a change agreed at a fitting is made by the people who cut the garment.

Consistency
Your pattern, measurements and preferences are held on file, so a garment ordered years apart is cut to the same reference rather than measured again from scratch.

Personalisation
Cloth, construction, lapel, pocket, lining, collar, cuff and monogram are chosen garment by garment — an individual pattern rather than a graded size.
After delivery
The relationship doesn't end at delivery.
A bespoke garment is meant to be worn for years, and bodies and wardrobes change. The detail of each stage below is confirmed with you at consultation.
Delivery
Garments are checked and pressed before they are handed over, and worn in front of the tailor so anything that needs adjusting is seen rather than reported.
Alterations
Adjustments to fit are made against your pattern. Clients abroad are handled through the same file, with the workshop advising on what can be done locally and what should return to Bangkok.
Aftercare
Advice on pressing, storage and repair, and a pattern kept on file so a garment can be reproduced or a matching piece added later.
